Lace Back Fingerless Gloves
These little hand-warmers are the perfect project for learning about lace. Designer Becky ffitch has included three different lace charts with varying degrees of difficulty to suit your experience, or your mood. Quick to knit, they make great gifts for feminine and sporty friends alike.
Lace patterns and charts appear in order of challenge:
- English Mesh Lace is perfect for new lace knitters, with its four+four-row repeat and easy-to-see centered stitch alignments. To make it even easier, omit the beading.
- Van Dyke Lace features centered eyelet arrows set off by two vertical lines of eyelets up each side.
- Rose Leaf Lace is just a little more complex, but after a repeat or two you’ll see its logic.
Yarn
1 skein Louet Gems #2 Fine/Sport Weight (225 yds/205m); shown in white.
Or 1 skein Handmaiden 4-Ply Cashmere (185 yds/170m); shown in black.
Or 1 skein Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (150 yds/135m); shown in red with beads.
Or an equivalent dk- or sport-weight yarn that will knit down to a dense fingering-weight gauge; approx. 120 yds/110m for wrist length; 200 yds/183m for elbow length.
