This wrap was inspired by “pinwheel” techniques from designers Lily Chin and Barbara Walker. It’s an easy way to start using lace yarn - knit a series of wedges, joined by a “pick-up” row. The lace border is worked on the 17 stitches at the edge, and the rest of the stitches are worked in garter stitch.
The shawl can be worked on straight needles as there will never be more than 118 stitches on at a time, but circulars may be more comfortable. Although the pattern stipulates 1750 yds (2 balls), you will most likely only use about half of the second ball, bringing the actual yardage to closer to 1350 yds.
