This is pattern from the October 2010 Phat Fiber Sample box. The theme that month was Steampunk. This can be used as a handkerchief, doily, veil, or if you knit it up in a kitchen cotton it can even be a dishcloth.
It’s knit in the round from the center out in a simple lace pattern. It has a knit on edging with nupps and cast on and bind off stitches to create the gear teeth. It was designed so that you may stop at any point in your increases for the center section and the knit on edging will still match up nicely around the edge.
