This is a lovely romantic lace crochet pattern. It is originally designed to hold my hooks and other crochet gadgets sorted, especially when travelling, and the thing I love the most is that it can be folded as as booklet or rolled up. However, this can also be used as a make up holder, an art supplies case (for brushes and paint tubes), etc.
You can use bigger yarn weights other than the one specified for this project, but please note that will make the case larger/bigger than the one in this pattern.
Alongside the pattern, I also give you instructions how to line it with a fabric (felt) piece.
Makes up for the perfect last minute gift.
Supplies:
Yarn and hook: sport yarn (brand of your choice) 70 /90 gr. a 4 mm and 3 mm hook (UK 6/11) (US 6/D). I usually use brands like Phil Cotton 3 or Tango.
Gauge: 1 shell pattern over 2.5 cm
Also needed: felt or fabric piece, tapestry needle for weaving ends, sewing needle and thread, pins and scissors. Optionally buttons for closure.
Stitches: chain (ch), stitch(es), skip (sk), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), 3dc cluster. American terminology used.
Holder measurements: 16 cm /6.30” across, 22 cm / 8.66” down.
