My designs are usually inspired by my travels, but over the past two years only armchair travel has been a possibility. An advantage of being at home more, though, was taking a deep dive into the Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible and working up some stitch patterns in a variety of yarns. I think I found a match-up that works well: this design features a couple of patterns with slight variations knit in a merino/linen yarn that I love.

I used approximately 2/3 of a skein of the Keld fingering weight yarn in the colorway Summer Harvest.

The pattern is suitable for an intermediate level knitter.

Note:
The last photo shows this cowl knit with Lotus Yarns Tibetan Cloud Worsted (color 07) - which is actually a DK weight - on US5/3.75mm needles. I cast on half the number of stitches, yielding a circumference of 24”/61cm; and worked though Round 6 of Chart 3, yielding a height of 8”/20cm.
