Feminine fans and lace combine with a versatile yarn and simple shaping in a skirt to flatter most figures. Worked from the waist down, you can customize the length to result in a playful mini-skirt cover-up or an elegant skirt you can line and wear to work.

Finished Size: 24¾ (27, 29¼, 31½, 33¾, 36)“ at waist, 42 (45½, 49, 52½, 56, 59½)” at hem, and 15” long (length is easily adjustable). Garment shown measures 29¼“.

Yarn: Lily Chin Signature Collection Chelsea (30% merino, 35% cotton, 35% acrylic; 191 yd (175 m)/1¾ oz (50g); CYCA-standard yarn weight system-3): #5815 carnation, 3 (4, 4, 4, 5, 5) skeins. Yarn distributed by CNS Yarns.

Yarn weight: #2 - Fine

Gauge:

  • Work 1 full rep of fan shell lace patt, then Rows 1-3 of patt once more: one fan shell with dc separating it = 2¼“ steamed and hung
  • 4 rows of one fan shell lace patt rep = 1½“ steamed and hung.

Needles/Hooks: Size D/3 (3.25 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
