Lacy Cables Cup Cozy Set
I have absolutely no idea if there is such a thing as standard paper cup sizing, but this sleeve was designed to fit the 12 ounce cup from my preferred convenience store.
There are quite a few cup cozy patterns out there, but working with ‘real yarn’ feels like trying to crochet rope to me, so I designed one using the easy to work with size 3 crochet thread. This would also work up well in a lighter sport weight yarn.
It was important to me to have some nice texture for this cup cozy in order to make a pleasing and grip-able surface and after experimenting with several ideas I chose to make a lacy cable design.
Cables are so popular, but working them up in a way that can still let the lacy-ness shine through required a couple different techniques on placing stitches. I have photos in the pattern to show exactly what I mean when I describe where to do what!
Pattern also includes instructions to make a matching bag to hold your favorite tea and sweetener.
Make one of each and you are ready to enjoy your perfect cup of tea or coffee no matter where you go!
