Lacy Lady doll dress
This dress fits American Girl and similar dolls. Many of these dolls have soft cloth bodies. The dress is designed so as to cover the cloth portions. It is knitted right onto purchased lace. Instructions are included and there is a support video.
YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE
Standard gauge includes Japanese 4.5” spacing as well as Passap and Superba and some vintage machines that have 5mm spacing. For these, use any yarn that can achieve a gauge of 7 stitches/10 rows/inch. “Wool-Like” yarn from Michaels was used for the sample. Mid-gauge & bulky version is for DK yarn at a gauge of 5.5 stitches/8 rows/”.
This dress is sold only as part of a book of clothes for these dolls. Here is the table of contents for the whole book:
TABLE OF CONTENTS
All patterns are presented in at least 2 gauges. Some have several. They may be made on any gauge and brand of machine. Nothing fancy is required. No ribber needed. Where there are 2 gauges, one uses #1 yarn and is for standard & Passap machines, one uses #3 yarn or light #4 yarn and is for mid-gauge & bulky machines. The last 6 patterns listed are given in multiple gauges.

Passap notes-page 3. All of the patterns may be made on the Passap. The notes are in Duo 80 terms. E-6000 machines can certainly do the work but if you use it you will need to look up your own technique numbers. In most cases, there is really no need for the console. It’s easier to knit without it.

Passaps can knit the design but if you have a Japanese machine it will be a little bit easier to accomplish. The tutu portion is Red Heart Sashay. Sample is Mary Lue’s Liberty Plus
