Lady Whistledown is returning with her wry observations and biting critiques of the ton, and I could not be more excited! The ladies will repress their passions and the lords will try and remain gentlemen. Will they succeed? I for one certainly hope not!

One thing I do know, is that the Bridgerton ladies need gloves to keep their delicate hands not so much warm, but protected from any potential contact with their gentleman of interest! If they must wear gloves, then at least they should be light and airy, and allow for just a little hint of skin to show through! Lady Whitledown’s Mitts are lovely and lacy, as well as quick and easy to make! Cast on with the new season and protect your delicate hands from wanted and unwanted advances alike!

These mitts take a small amount of yarn, so save your pin money and stash dive for leftover fingering weight yarn. Bonus if you use shawl leftovers and make the mitts to match. I am sure Lady Whistledown would shower praises on such a smartly matched set!

Needles
US 2 DPNs or circular for knitting a small circumference in the round.
US 3 DPNs or circular for knitting a small circumference in the round.

Small Crochet Hook (approximately US 1-2)

Gauge
24 sts and 32 rows = 4 inches in main pattern stitch, after blocking.

Measurements
7.25” (8.5”) hand circumference (above the thumb and below the knuckles) to fit size 7-8” (8-9”). The stitch is very stretchy so I recommend sizing down if you are in between sizes. For reference, the mitts shows are 7.25” on a hand that measures 7.5” in circumference.
