Lady's Slipper
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
This pattern requires a stretchy cast on method and a Kitchener stitch to close the end of the toe.
Prince Edward Island (or PEI if you prefer) adopted the Lady’s Slipper as its floral representative in 1947.
The flower petals are shaped like a woman’s shoe. It blooms in spring and is found growing in the shade of the forest. The burgundy red of this flower is what we have chosen to knit this delicate interpretation of the provincial flower.
The pattern is set off by the contrasting texture of the double seed stitch that allows for sizing this pretty sock.
