Laelia is a beautiful subtropical orchid with petals that fan out into stars.

This cardigan showcases that same quality with lace that fans out into graceful petal shapes. Worked from the collar down with raglan seam shaping, the lace is worked simultaneously with the body so there is little finishing needed when completed. Both charts and written instructions are included for the lace sections.

Laelia can be worn open but it also looks great belted or closed with a pin. The cardigan’s long body nicely complements your favorite pair of jeans or a fancy dress.
Take it out for a lovely stroll in the park.

The pattern is available as a single download or as a part of ”Sense of Lace Collection” e-book.

Sizes: 28 (30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50)”
The cardigan is meant to be worn with approx. 1 inch 2.5cm of positive ease.

Gauge: 24 sts and 34 rows per 4” 10cm in stockinette stitch on the larger needles after blocking.
Take time to save time – check your gauge.

Materials:
* Madelinetosh 80/10/10 Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi) (80% Merino, 10% Nylon (Polyamide), 10% Cashmere) 1 skein/ 250 yards (229 meters): 5 (6, 6, 6, 7 7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 9, 9) skeins or approx. 1250 (1320, 1390, 1460, 1530 1600, 1680, 1760, 1840, 1930, 2030, 2130) yards 1143 (1207, 1271, 1335, 1400 1463, 1537, 1610, 1683, 1765, 1857, 1947) meters of any sport weight yarn that knits up to gauge.

Please note that this cardi is designed with vertical lace lines between the main lace pattern; however, if you want to continue the lace throughout the back instead of doing the vertical lines, you need to make sure you have a proper number of sts on the needles to make it work. You can increase extra sts on both sides of the cardigan along the way to the hem.
