Any worsted weight yarn will work for this pattern, however, be mindful that not all WW yarn is created equal…some tend to be a little thinner and some a little thicker, which will affect gauge. Nor is each individual crocheter created equal, also potentially affecting gauge. If you find that when making your swatch you use fewer stitches/rows, you may need to go down a hook size; if you use more, go up a hook size.

Gauge is not imperative in this pattern, it is only given as a guideline, but not using the suggested gauge will cause the finished product to differ from the approximate finished measurements given.

Turning chain does not count as a stitch.

Wrap is worked side to side, turning at the end of each row. Increases are made only on one side of the piece (every other row).
