Any DK weight yarn will work just fine.

The lamb doesn’t use a full ball of white or black. You could either use scraps from another project, or make several!

The same Debbie Bliss book seems to be printed under different names in different countries - mine is titled Farmyard Knits, but I have seen it published as Kids’ Country Knits.
