“Body and sleeves are worked in the round from lower edge to underarms,” says the pattern, “then joined and yoke is worked in the round. Round begins and ends with a purl stitch for the steek at the front of the body. The front opening is cut open. Knit from the plates or wind softly two strands of wool together for each colour. If you like the jacket to have a zipper or crocheted button band, reduce 6 sts from the body front.” Plotulopi is a very light soft pencil roving, and you work two strands together, changing colours at regular intervals, to give the soft shaded effect.
