Our inspirations for this year’s shop design are the Western Meadowlark and thimbleberries. As a fan of folk songs, the Western Meadowlark with its bright plumage and beautiful song reminded me of an English folk song, “Lark in the Morning”--thus the name. The overall shape of the shawl is akin to a bird’s wingspan and I used V-stitches for the main stitches in homage to the dark V patch of feathers on the Western Meadowlark’s breast. For the assigned color pooling we have a lovely red shade that is very similar to thimbleberries! It is so similar in fact, that I had to use a bobble-stitch variation to make my own thimbleberries in this design. I hope you have as much fun making and wearing this shawl as I had designing it!

Dream in Color Smooshy. One full skein of assigned color pooling color (Razzle Dazzle) and one-half skein of second color (Brownie).

Hooks
size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook or size to obtain gauge as it is critical for this pattern - the sample uses almost all of the yarn!
