Latte Art
Alternating bands of cream and brown resemble layers of steamed milk and espresso; while the distinctive center evokes the latte art skillful baristas create. Like a warm cup of caffè latte, this uniquely shaped shawl is the ultimate in cozy comfort. Choose your own colors to call to mind your favorite latte.
This is part of my Caffeiknitted collection ebook which celebrates the symbiotic relationship of knitters and their caffeine as they approach a deadline. Green Tea with Honey is also in this collection. Two more patterns, Energize, a fingering weight tank with colorwork bands, and Bubbles and Ice, a soda themed sock, are coming soon.
If you buy the ebook now, you can get it for $12 and will receive the other patterns when they are released. Once all of the patterns are released the price will go up to $16.

• Malabrigo Lace, 100% merino 50g, 470 yds

Gauge
8 st and 12 rows per 1”/2.5cm of stockinette in the round.
Gauge is not overly important for this shawl. Choose a needle and yarn combination that produces a pleasant result for you. Extreme changes in gauge will affect yardage.
Notes
• This shawl starts with a striped, circular motif worked in the round on double-pointed needles. Then the the work switches to knitting back and forth on long circulars. A “wing” is created on each side in the main color by working short rows. The body is worked in Contrast Color 1 across the full length of the shawl. A short edging is worked in the main color with the last three rows in Contrast Color 2.
• Due to the nature of handpainted yarn, you should either alternate skeins of CC1 while working the body portion, or embrace the layers of color that can occur from the differences in color between skeins.
