Gauge: 21st in 4inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch

The samples were made using Malabrigo Rios, Drops Sky, Drops Lima and Drops Cotton Merino and using 4mm / US6 knitting needles.

You will need: DK/light worsted yarn (up to 130 grams for 5-adult size, up to 110 grams for 2-5yr size, and less than 100 grams for the smaller sizes), knitting needles to obtain the gauge (please make sure you make a gauge swatch!), darning needle to weave in the yarn ends. One stitch marker.

The hat part is knit flat, the neck part is knit in the round. Please make sure you have either double pointed needles or a circular needle if you are using magic loop.

Regarding the sizing: the balaclava is stretchy, it will fit most of those who are in thir according age/size. 5+ size will stretch to fit most adult heads (up to 60cm / 23.5in circumference).
