Gauge: 19st in 4inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch

The samples were made using Lana Grossa Merino Uno, Knit Picks Swish Worsted, Manos del Uruguay Gloria, Lion Brand Pound of Love and using 5mm / US8 knitting needles.

You will need: Worsted yarn (up to 140 grams for 5-adult size, up to 120 grams for 2-5yr size, and up tp 100 grams for the smaller sizes), knitting needles to obtain the gauge (please make sure you make a gauge swatch!), darning needle to weave in the yarn ends. One stitch marker.

The hat part is knit flat, the neck part is knit in the round. Please make sure you have either double pointed needles or a circular needle if you are using magic loop.

Regarding the sizing: the balaclava is stretchy, it will fit most of those who are in thir according age/size. 5+ size will stretch to fit most adult heads (up to 60cm / 23.5in circumference).
