This is a simple little bag, based on an example I worked in preparation for my Interweave Knitting Traditions article in Spring 2013, Medieval Masterpieces: The Purses of Sion.

It uses just one small motif in a single pattern band, to give people an opportunity to try color-stranded patterning in silk knitting.

It’s also knitted at a finer than usual gauge, 12 stitches to the inch. It makes a good practice piece for anyone interested in learning the finer knitting used for medieval purses.
