Laurelie
This cosy triangular shawl combines lovely graphic mosaic knitting, garter stitch and a beautiful lace pattern that echoes the diamond mosaic motif.
It is worked in fingering weight yarn in two colours. Big colour blocks, bold mosaic diamonds and elegant lace create a fascinating interplay of colour & texture in this eyecatching item!
The two-colour diamond motif is created with the mosaic knitting technique, which is easy to knit as it uses slipped stitches and only one colour at a time.
Knit on the bias as a sideways triangle with a centred bottom tip makes it a cosy and easy to wear shawl.
The pattern comes in fully written out instructions as well as charted ones.
I hope you enjoy the pattern!
This design was created in collaboration with Seven Sisters Arts and I had the pleasure to work with the fabulous Apex yarn for my sample!
SIZE OF SAMPLE:
length along top edge: approx. 208cm/81.9“
depth: approx. 50cm/19.7“
adjustable
YARN:
Designed for fingering weight yarn in 2 contrasting colours. Allow approx. 360-390yds/330-360m of each colour (total of approx. 780yds/700m) to get the size of the sample.
Yarn used for sample:
Seven Sisters Arts Apex (fingering weight, 100g=410yds/375m), 1 skein each in colourways Cranberry (A) (approx. 95g used) and Natural (B) (approx. 88g used)
GAUGE & NEEDLES:
Not critical for this project but differences will affect yardage requirements and the finished size.
Gauge on sample: 23 sts x 32 rows = 10x10cm/4x4“ in garter stitch on smaller needle after blocking
Needles used for sample: 3.5 & 3.75 mm / US 4 & 5
