Lauriel features a yoke that flatteringly combines round yoke and set in sleeve shaping in an intriguing seamless construction with underbust gathers and a fitted waist that’s easy to fit perfectly. Twisted ribbing at the neck grows organically to form the outlines of leaves with eyelet flowers at their centres. These leaves are echoed as a motif on the cuffs and body, flowing down into the deep ribbed waistband.

Shown in sizes 34 and 48 with zero ease at the bust.

Yarn
Double knitting weight yarn with a suggested gauge of 5.5 sts per inch / 2.5 cm, this fitted style requires a yarn with some elasticity such as wool, wool blends or a reasonably stretchy blend of synthetic and plant fibres. The leaf motifs require good stitch definition from something smoothly spun and not too fuzzy.

The yarn requirements shown below are based on the average body and sleeve lengths shown. For a perfect fit I recommend adjusting these lengths to fit your own measurements, every 1” of length on the body will affect the yarn required by 3%.

Needles and Notions
US 5 / 3.75mm 32” circular needle
US 5 / 3.75mm needles for your preferred method of working small circumferences in the rnd.
Scrap yarn for holding sts.
Stitch markers.
Sew on snaps and buttons, the number of buttons required will depend on the overall length of your cardigan, the size of your buttons and the placement you choose so it’s best to purchase after knitting. The snaps form the functional fastening and the buttons are merely decorative, since there are no buttonholes to fit your buttons can be any size.
