Lavaliere: noun

  1. an ornamental pendant, usually jeweled, worn on a chain around the neck.

The color work pattern on these socks is reminiscent of this kind of pendant.

Sock pattern is written for four sizes of leg circumference. Further adjustments can be made by tweaking the gauge if necessary.

Sample socks (women’s US size 8) used 1 ball each (220 yds) of Knit Picks Stroll Tweed yarn; this is enough to knit a fraternal pair of socks. For particularly large feet, more yarn may be necessary.

It’s also possible to knit these with the same main color on both feet. In that case, you should plan on 100 gms (approx 440 yds) of the main color in fingering weight sock yarn, and approximately 30 gms of a contrasting color.
