Lavenda Droplet Jumper
The Lavenda Droplet Jumper is the quintessential 1950s ‘Rockabilly’ sweater. It features dramatic sleeves and an unusual zig zag shaped yoke both worked in an attractive droplet stitch on a background of reverse stocking stitch. The high neck has a back neck opening with two decorative buttons and the sweater has a deep 10cm (4in) waistband further emphasising the nipped-in shape of the 1950s.
The Lavenda Droplet Jumper is part of a matching set alongside the Lavenda Droplet Bolero and the two patterns feature interchangeable sleeves as well as looking fabulous together. Pair them with a full skirt to emphasise the waist or a pair of capri pants and ballet shoes to ramp up the Rockabilly!
Lavenda Droplet Jumper is knitted using Excelana North fingering weight a soft, fingering weight 100% British wool, spun for us in nearby Yorkshire and dyed in-house by Susan and her team. Shown here in shade Icelandic Moss.
Our model Julia is shown wearing the fourth size 92-97cm (36-38in).
The pattern includes instructions for twelve sizes to fit chest measurements between 71cm (28in) and 152cm (60in) and contains both clear written pattern directions, together with charted instructions for stitch placement detail plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.
Yarn kits are available at Susan Crawford Vintage.
