Layer Cake is a seamless, top-down, circular yoke pullover with a beginner friendly layered colorwork pattern.

This is a kind of “choose your own adventure” pattern: the colorwork on the yoke can be knit in as few as two colors or as many as six, the cuffs can have colorwork or not (and if you choose to include colorwork on the cuffs it can be symmetrical or asymmetrical!), the sleeves can be long or short, and the body and be regular length or cropped. You can customize this sweater to be uniquely yours!

Layer Cake is cast on at the neck, which is shaped with short rows. The body is knit seamlessly in the round to the hem. The sleeves are picked up at the underarm from held stitches, and knitted in the round to the cuffs.

As an added bonus, Layer Cake is a great way to use leftover yarn! All of the CCs in my sample are fingering weight yarns held double. I often combined two different dyers to create extra depth in the color…play around and have fun! Your sweater will be a beautiful reflection of you and a journal of your knitting.
