Layered
“Layered” is a seamless shawl knitted bottom-up from few stitches to the edge. The finished shawl constructed from two shawls knitted separate and connected at the top edge. The bottom shawl is knitted in plain stockinette stitch with a little decorative edge. The top shawl has a little leaf lace pattern. This construction allows for the lace pattern to always be visible no matter what color clothing the shawl is worn over. The shawl is shaped as a triangle.
Finished Size:
The sample shawl in the photographs after blocking was:
Bottom shawl: 180 cm (70.9 inches) for the straight edge on the top of the shawl and 68 cm (26.8 inches) for the height of the shawl at the center.
Top shawl: 160 cm (63 inches) for the straight edge on the top of the shawl and 61 cm (24 inches) for the height of the shawl at the center.
You can easily make it bigger or smaller by adding or taking away pattern repeats.
Gauge:
The gauge is not critical in knitting this shawl. Adjust your needle size to suite your yarn and achieve the size and the look of the shawl of your choice.
