For Granny Square Day 2022 (August 15th) I’ve created three granny designs using yarn from La Bien Aimee, mYak and Handmaiden yarn dyed for River City Yarn in their Adam and Eve base. Feel free to use yarn from stash as each granny pattern will use about 4g of yarn. You may want to change hook sizes as needed, to work up a fabric to your liking. Hope you enjoy the patterns. Each granny progresses in level of difficulty. The Granny Round (intermediate-beginner level) uses one colour and would be great for makers already familiar with basic crochet sts. The Granny Hexie (experienced-beginner level) requires a good understanding of sts and involves mixing different yarn weights and bases, requiring some familiarity with different yarn weights and how they will work up if substituting yarns. The Granny Square (intermediate level) includes fpdc and bpdc sts and involves a mix of different yarn weights. Having some familiarity (and willingness to experiment and try) different weights will be useful for the Granny Square as well.

Granny Round: 3.75” / 9.5 cm diameter

MATERIALS
Granny Round Yarn: Approx. 4 g / 0.15 oz. per Round in Adam & Eve Yarn (81% merino, 9% cashmere, 10% nylon, 325 m / 355 yds, 115 g / 4 oz.), colour Desert Flower, or equivalent yarn.

Granny Hexie Yarn: Approx. 4 g / 0.15 oz. per Hexie in a mix of La Bien Aimee bases, or equivalents.
Helix (75% Falkland Merino, 25% Gotland Wool, 650 m / 710 yds, 100 g / 3.5 oz.), colours Yellow Brick Road and Peach Sweater; Felix (75% Falkland Merino, 25% Gotland Wool, 650 m / 710 yds, 100 g / 3.5 oz.), colours Peach Sweater; Cashmerino (75% merino, 15% cashmere, 10% nylon, 433 m / 474 yds, 100 g / 3.5 oz.), colours Yellow Brick Road and Dawn; and Mohair Silk (70% mohair, 30% silk, 500 m / 547 yds, 50 g / 1.75 oz.), colour Peach Sweater.

Granny Square Yarn: Approx. 4 g / 0.15 oz. per Square in a mix of mYak bases, or equivalents.
Baby Yak/Silk (50% Baby Yak, 50% Silk, 116 m / 127 yds, 25 g / 0.9 oz.), colours Savitri, Samsara and Fieno; Tibetan Cloud (100% wool, 300 m / 328 yds, 100 g / 3.5 oz.), colours Botton d’Oro, Cannella and Peony.

Hook: US 2 / 2.75 mm or size to obtain gauge.
Notions: tapestry needle, scissors.

NOTES
Chain sts are included in the st count, unless otherwise stated. Each Granny finishes with nj for a tidier edge, but a sl st jn to finish the final round can be used in its place.
