Leaf and Vine
For the nature enthusiast, or just for the knitter who likes representational designs, these socks are sure to please. Worked toe-up, a gentle vine marked by broad, lace-veined leaves scrolls up the front and back of your sock, set off by a leaf lace insert at the sides. These socks are designed with solid or nearly-solid yarns in mind, but work well in somewhat more colorful yarns due to the highly embossed nature of the stitch patterns. The lace leaves increase the stitch count, causing them to pop out of the fabric dramatically. This lace design is intermediate-to-advanced due to the change in stitch count from row to row and use of a variety of increases. It is easy to follow for those used to reading their knitting, however, due to its graceful simplicity.
