Leaf Collector's Mitts
Chilly hands and wrists are no fun and, if you like to have your fingers and thumbs free, arm warmer mitts are a great solution. The Leaf Collector’s Mitts feature a pretty leaf design (naturally) with just enough lace to add interest, but not enough to let the draughts in.
The pattern is suitable for an ambitious beginner looking for a first lace - or ‘charted’ - project, and as they are knit flat, you don’t have to worry about knitting on DPNs or circular needles. If you’re a more experienced knitter, you’ll probably find the pattern repeat easy to remember and will zip through it in no time.
NB - If you’d like to knit these in the round: Simply omit the selvedge stitches (found at the beginning and end of each row), the pattern will work seamlessly.
You will need :
- 40g / 105m Scheepjes Stone Washed sport weight (lightweight DK)
- 4mm needles
- Moveable stitch markers
- Needle for sewing up
Stitches and special instructions :
Knit, purl, k3tog, yo, and an uncommon decrease I’ve called s3yp3. Photos are provided for the decrease and you can read more about it here
Size :
Finished mitts measure 21 cm x 8 cm when laid flat, as the rib and leaf pattern are stretchy, one size will fit most adult hands.
