This design is based on a trim pattern I came across in an old 1960’s textile compendium book I picked up in a charity shop. It’s been a favourite of mine for years and I’ve used it in many a project as a fancy trim.

The original pattern was worked using the same size of stitch throughout for the leaf motif, but I’ve tweaked and adapted to make it my own. It works brilliantly as a decorative necklace, the construction of the trim allows it to curve slightly so it sit’s perfectly around the neck.

You have the choice of 2 designs, a plain and beaded picot design along with hints and tips for design adaptations.

The pattern is written using UK crochet terms and has step by step instructions with pictures showing all the techniques used along with a graph. The leaf motif is worked in a continuous length so can easily be made longer if required.

Both designs are finished off with a button and loop fastening to the back that can be worn as a decoration to the side or front,

It’s a surprisingly versatile design, dressing you up or down depending on the outfit and mood.
