Each finished insect measures approximately 11.5cm (4½in) long.

Each insect uses approximately 20g of yarn. A variety of crochet stitches and simple embroidery is used to make the insects.

Other materials you will need include:

• 2.75mm (UK-:USC/2) crochet hook
• Blunt-ended yarn needle
• Toy stuffing
• 1mm (18-gauge) craft wire for the legs
• Pliers

These insects are purely decorative and not suitable for small children, due to the wire used for their legs.
