Leannán Cowl is a single skein project designed to highlight hand dyed variegated yarn. The simple slip stitches nicely show off each perfectly painted bit of yarn and the amazing colors that are used. Leannán Cowl uses the same stitch pattern as my Leannán sock pattern here.

This pattern does call for a cable needle but if you are comfortable cabling without a cable needle or want to try, this is the perfect pattern. The pair of sock linked above was my first cabled project I knit without a cable needle, I found the cowl to be even easier.

463 yards (423 meters) of fingering weight yarn

NEEDLES
US 3 and 4 (3.25 and 3.5 mm) 16” circular (40 cm)

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker
Cable Needle

GAUGE
30 stitches x 36 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in blocked stockinette

Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge if necessary!
