A filigree slipover with beautiful and intricate cables inspired by a character of Verdi’s opera “Il trovatore”. Leonora is a beautiful lady, who is in love, reciprocated, with the Troubador. The story has an intricate plot full of twist and turns and, of course, of great opera music.
I must thank my friend Angela Nisi, talented soprano and knitter, for the inspiration.
This slipover is worked seamlessly top-down. The piece is started from the back collar, that morphs seamlessly in the fronts that are worked separately and flat until the underarms. The back is picked up from the shoulders and the collar and worked flat to the underarms, where the work is joined in the round.
The body is then worked in the round with two magnificent cables on the sides and one smaller in the center front.
When the body reached the desired length, an attached border is worked to give the final touch to this little masterpiece.

Approx. 450 (500, 550, 650) [750, 850, 950] (1000, 1100, 1200) m / 492 (546.8, 601.5, 710.8)[820.2, 929.5, 1038.9] (1093.6, 1202.9, 1312.3) yds.
CC: Lang Yarns Cashmere Lace (100% Cashmere, 42% Silk; 180.5 yds 165 m/25 g), col. 0092;
Approx. 450 (500, 550, 650) [750, 850, 950] (1000, 1100, 1200) m / 492 (546.8, 601.5, 710.8)[820.2, 929.5, 1038.9] (1093.6, 1202.9, 1312.3) yds.
Note: Choose two yarn colors with a good contrast between them. In my opinion, the best results are achieved with a light CC and a dark MC.
