Designed for Super Sock Scarefest 2022 and inspired by the movie and Anne Rice’s book - Interview with the Vampire.

This cuff-down sock with a heel flap features colour work and Victorian gothic styling fit for The Brat Prince.

As the vampire Lestat is all about giving people the choices (that he never had) there are multiple options within the sock. Will you choose to vamp it up and knit the ruffle, braids, beads, and cables? Or if you are feeling Lestat’s dangerous streak, roll a die / dice and let fate decide your socks.

Suggested yarn: Any fingering weight yarn appropriate for socks approx 400m/100g MC 300m  (75g)  CC 60m (15g)   Blood colour 60 m (15g)  I used Cascade Heritage - sapphire, silver and red.

Notions: stitch markers, needle for weaving in ends, (Optional: cable needle, approximately 50 size 6/0 or 8/0 beads - plus favourite beading tool),

Gauge: 32 stitches and 44 rounds = 10 cm / 4 in in stockinette

Techniques: Knitting in the round, increases, decreases, slip stitches, stretchy cast on, reading and following a chart, heel turn, stranded knitting, kitchener stitch, beaded knitting, cables
