The arrival of spring makes us want to fill our house with bright seasonal blooms, from delicate ranunculus to bold, trumpety daffodils. And, what better way to show them off than an equally sunny set of crochet vases?

Made by fancying up a glass jar with some clever crochet techniques, we like the way these beauties will wow guests, while simultaneously detracting from our not-so-impressive flower arranging skills. If you haven’t tried tapestry crochet before, it’s a handy skill to add to your repertoire, as it means you can easily switch between yarn colours for a striking effect.

To adapt the zig zag design to a different-sized jar, make sure your stitches are divisible by an uneven number. That way, you can adapt the chart to make the triangles as big or as small as you need.
