Let your Heart Unwind
Let your Heart Unwind is available as a Ravelry Download since July 16th. I am so excited about this pattern, come join us for a KAL at our group here!
Small errata:
On Section 12, there’s an instruction missing… The row where you decrease from 45 to 44 st should read:
Next row (RS): Sl1, sl 2 st one by one, k2tog, p2sso, yo, k1, yo, rm, w&t. (44 st).
Let your mind start a journey with this piece in hand and watch as it quickly unfurls. Surrender to this shawl’s sweet sections of lace and seed st… Knitting side-to-side panels of garter stitch offers you moments of bliss as you daydream away, until gently transitioning into the next lace section. If you have never tried it before, it could be a good candidate for your first lace project!
Best of all, this simple shawl could be a perfect match for that one special skein of yarn you have stashed away for a special occasion (or maybe found at the Marketplace?). It will showcase beautifully any solid color, but it will also look wonderful in multi-colored yarns.
I used a beautiful single ply merino in fingering weight, but dare to try other yarns and weights!
Be careful though, this dynamite shawl is so sexy and pretty, it may just end up being your favorite go-to cover up in your wardrobe this summer.
Finished Measurements:
60 inches (150cm) from side to side and 16 inches (40 cm) from top to bottom at deepest point (after blocking).
Materials:
Yarn: Cozy Merino Fingering, by WalkCollection (100% merino – 100g/400 yd): 1 skein.
Needles: US 5 (3.75mm) knitting needles.
Gauge:
20 stitches and 28 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) in garter stitch, after blocking. Gauge is not crucial for this project. However, changes might result in a different yardage requirement.
This little pattern was especially created to be featured on Unwind Brighton programme on July 12-13th.
All the attendees to classes and marketplace received a copy, so I hope I see a few shawls pop up here and there after the event!
