DEGEN Collection | Fall 2022

Lindsay Degen of DEGEN puts the focus on fit proportion and vibrant color combinations in this playful collection for adults. Each garment or accessory explores a different technique -- including stripes, brioche, zigzags, and more.

/////

So many new techniques in such a small space! Knitting mittens from the fingertips to the cuff will introduce you to Judy’s Magic Cast-On, an afterthought thumb, picking up stitches to add a ribbed cuff below a rolled edge, and a sewn bind-off. The fingertips and cuffs make use of our Bocados (25g mini-skeins of Alegria Grande) for maximum color-play.

NOTES
Both mittens are identical and can be worn on either hand.

Each mitten is worked from the finger tips down to the cuff. When the upper hand reaches the top of the thumb joint, the stitches for the thumb gusset are added using waste yarn, and the lower hand is worked down to the cuff with decreases to shape the top-down thumb gusset. The thumb stitches are worked upwards from the waste yarn to the thumb tip.
