Leyla's Hat
I designed this pattern for a dear friend who fell in love with a chunky yarn. Then I reworked it for an Aran weight, so we have a pattern that can work with either! I created some mitts for her, and wanted to surprise her with a matching set so I created this hat, as well. It’s easy enough for a beginner, even though it has a special stitch: hdc in far back loop. I’ve included a link to a very well-made video by Tamara from Moogly to show you how it works.
You can work this hat in worsted weight, just make sure you size your hook to meet gauge. Seriously, meet gauge. And you may have to add a few rounds to it to get the correct length. Or add a bunch of rounds and make it a slouch!
