This open lightweight cardigan is sure to become a staple in your wardrobe. It has a relaxed fit with roomy, short sleeves and a cozy shawl collar. The silk content in Dirty Water Dyeworks’ Mavis makes it very soft next to the skin and the semi-solid colors are to “dye” for! It is available in ten sizes from bust 33-60” and is also a very adaptable and versatile design. You can easily dress it up or down, making it the perfect item for a breezy summer wedding or even just a day at the beach!

This sweater is constructed from the top-down (flat), so that you can try it on as you knit and make it the length you want. Once the yoke raglan increases are complete, sleeve stitches are placed on scrap yarn and stitches are cast on for the underarm. The body is then worked and finished off with a ribbed hem. Sleeve stitches are then placed on the needle with the underarm stitches and the ribbed cuffs are worked in the round. Stitches are then picked up around the body and back of neck for the collar. The shawl collar is formed by raising the back of the neck with simple short rows. Blocking will help smooth out the shape and the ribbing making it “drapey” and flawless. Instructions are given for an optional single button closure.
