Licorice Lace Cardigan
Spring 2023 Manos del Uruguay Collection
•
Manos del Uruguay x Julia Farwell-Clay
•
In planning this collection and looking over the Manos del Uruguay palette, one can’t help but think of the kaleidoscope of sugar spun colors of the candy counter, the fun of choosing, and the dizzying joy of rainbow gobstoppers, pastel taffy chews, pink bubblegum and bright red shoestring licorice to cherish for what, an hour before they’re devoured?
•
Nostalgic yet modern, this collection is designed with entertainment and wearability in mind: each piece brings a festive need-to-have layer for those in between spring and summer temperatures in shapes of the moment.
•
A classic lace-inflected cardigan with slightly boxy modern proportions, knit in lucious Alpaca Heather for a true year round sweater to layer over a summer evening sundress or under a winter wool blazer.
Please note that the lace patterns are charted.

NOTES
The back and fronts are worked separately in rows, then joined at the shoulders and side seams.
The stitches for each sleeve are picked up around the armhole opening and worked back and forth in short rows to shape the sleeve cap. At the end of the cap the sleeve stitches are joined for working in the round down to the cuff.
During neck shaping, if there are not enough stitches in the lace panel to work a decrease with its companion yarnover, work the stitch of the incomplete pair in stockinette.
Two sleeve length options are provided: the ¾ length shown, and a bracelet-length sleeve (slightly shorter than full-length) which is not shown.
