Light and Lacy Ruana
This oversize design is a perfect layering piece without being too warm or heavy.
This openwork design is perfect for those warmer months when garments might need just a little extra help against air conditioning or even as a coverup at the beach!
The repeating geometric stitch pattern creates lace without being too frilly, while the softness of the cotton bamboo yarn feels delightful on bare skin.
There are lots of ways to wear this ruana: open in the front like a vest, or with a belt; one or both ends draped around your shoulders like a shawl; even tied around the waist as a coverup for bare legs!
8 skeins were used to make the blue garment as shown in the photos which consists of a large rectangle back piece and 2 smaller rectangle front pieces. A rectangle shawl can be made with half the yarn while still being beautifully wrap-able! The individual pattern available directly from the designer includes that modification.
