I loved this yarn the moment I saw it. I purchased these two colors with nothing specific in mind. They sat on my desk for a while and every day I would ‘pet’ them hoping they would speak to me about what they wanted to be. Being a pseudo knitting geek, I often peruse Barbara Walker’s Treasury of Knitting Patterns just for grins. There it was, at the bottom of page 92 in A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns, Two-Color Star Stitch. I was intrigued so I got my needles out and started right away. As with most of my swatching, I start with big swatches that can morph into baby sweaters if all goes well. It was a keeper, a playful exchange between the multicolor and semisolid yarns. I made all the pieces and put them together, but it needed an edging to complete it. The stitch needed to speak, here, so I used an understated crochet edge with a small picot on the final row. It is the perfect compliment.
