Armenian knitting is an application of stranded knitting whereby at all times the non-working yarn is trapped and carried behind the working yarn. This allows for a distinctive fabric that is extra warm. The Lily Armenian Sweater employs Armenian knitting techniques to make isolated large motifs that would otherwise only be accomplished through intarsia knitting. While containing no waist shaping and with generous positive ease, the Lily Armenian Sweater employs color fields to give the illusion of a fitted garment. Knit seamlessly in the round from the bottom up, the Lily Armenian Sweater utilizes raglan decreases for the upper body and a steek for the neck opening.
