Links
The Links pattern is a set of three garments, each with the same argyle colourwork motif. They’re all worked at the same gauge.
Gauge - all versions
22 stitches and 29 rows (single colour)
22 stitches and 23 rows (colourwork)
Note: you may need to change needle sizes for the colourwork.
The samples were knit in Sandnesgarn Tynn Peer Gynt held with mohair. Testers also used Cascade 220, Drops Lima, KFO Merino and Mohair, Holst supersoft held double, De Rerum Natura Ulysse and The Croft Shetland DK. Any yarn that meets gauge can be used. If working a steeked version, take care no to pick a slippery yarn (e.g. superwash merino, 100% alpaca) as this will make steeking tricky.
The yardage given is PER STRAND. If using yarns held together you will need the required yardage in each yarn.
The Sweater
The Links sweater is a drop shouldered, top down sweater with bands of colourwork across the yoke, body and sleeve. The back is worked first with flat colourwork, then the fronts are picked up and shaped and the front colourwork is also worked flat. The sweater is joined in the round and a third motif is worked. Finally the sleeves are picked up as is the collar.

The Cardigan and Vest
Both of these are started the same. The back is worked then the front is pickde up and either a round neck or a v neck is worked. The pattern is joined in the round under the arms and the colourwork is worked in the round. The pattern is then STEEKED and buttonbands are added.
The cardigan is finished with set-in sleeves. The vest is finished with ribbed cuffs.
The cardigan/vest pattern includes an addendum for working the pattern without a steek (as seen in the vest sample). This version has no buttonbands.
