This is a very simple shawl that is great for yarn with short colorways. It is a great second project as it is mostly garter but with a little added complexity.

Gauge and needles:
18 sts/28 Rows = 4” in garter after blocking on US 8 5 mm

sl2, k1, p2sso - slip two stitches, knit one stitch, pass the slipped stitches over the knit stitch (centered double decrease)
pleat 5 front - place 5 sts on cable needle and hold to back, knit together the first stitch off knitting needle and cable needle, repeat this for the next 4 stitches. (10 sts become 5 sts)
pleat 5 back - place 5 sts on cable needle and hold to front, knit together the first stitch off cable needle and knitting needle, repeat this for the next 4 stitches. (10 sts become 5 sts)
