Linus Cardigan
Linus is pullover and cardigan that revels in the flattering, graphic lines of brioche stitch. The body is worked in 2 colour brioche rib to create a rich, squishy fabric. This sweater is a awesome use for that special skein of fingering/4 ply yarn! The sweater is a top-down, seamless construction with drop shoulders, a V-neck, and 2-colour brioche rib in the body.
This pattern includes instructions for the Linus Pullover and the Linus Cardigan, no need to buy both patterns!
YARN
Cascade 220 Superwash (100% superwash Wool; 220 yards/200m per 100g ball) 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8) balls in Navy colour 854. Madeline Tosh Merino Light (100% superwash merino wool; 420 yards/ 384 m per 100g skein) 1 (1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2) skeins in colourway Coquette.
If you are substituting yarn, Linus uses approximately: 85 (95, 105, 115, 125, 135, 145, 155, 165) grams of 4 ply/fingering weight yarn and 350 (400, 440, 485, 530, 580, 625, 665, 705) grams of DK weight yarn. Note: These yarn quantities are generous estimates, especially at the larger sizes, because there is nothing worse than running out of yarn! The sleeves are, however quite long, and less yarn may be needed.
SIZES
81 (91, 101.5, 111.5, 121.5, 132, 142, 152, 162) cm/ 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64) inches
Linus is designed to fit with around 5 cm positive ease. The pullover is shown in size S and the cardigan shown in size medium on a 91cm bust. Brioche rib is an exceptionally drapey, stretchy fabric and will stretch to accommodate larger sizes. Consider knitting a smaller size than you normally would.
