These socks are knit toe-up with a short row heel featuring variants of a classical Alpine stitch pattern and little Aliens which extend down the leg and over the foot.

The cuff is worked in reverse rib. The heel, bottom of the foot and the toes are worked in stockinette stitch.

This pattern uses a standard German heel construction commonly known as double stitch short row heel or Boomerang Heel. If you don’t feel comfortable with this, you can use any short row heel over 32 stitches instead.
