Cast on some fun with this fishing set, perfect for imaginative play. You can fish for crabs, trout or goldfish from the fishing pond, with two types of fishing rods, and baskets for storing your catch.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, these toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES:
A pair each of 3.5mm and 4mm single pointed knitting needles (US 4 & 6).

RECOMMENDED YARN:
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour.


NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle, toy filling, stitch holder, a 25cm outer diameter flat back polystyrene wreath form, metal split rings, wooden dowel rods, magnets or a plastic hook, and wobbly stick on toy eyes.

SIZES:
One size only - Play pond is 25cm diameter, orange goldfish are 9cm long, pink crab are 10cm across (including claws) and blue trout are 10cm long.

TECHNIQUES:
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
