You can use any weight, any materials. Please note you have to weigh the yardage used for the set up rows to use the same amount for the ending rows.

Needle size:

3.5 mm (US 4) needle
Gauge:

22sts×24rows= 10 cm in cable st
20sts×24rows= 10 cm in ribbing st
Notions: 2 stitch markers and tapestry needle
