Springtime! Time for frolicking about in a lacy little wisp of a capelet. You will find this one just right- it only takes one or two skeins of most lace weight yarns, and uses simple lace stitches quite effectively. The shape is basically a square, with one triangular quadrant missing, so it will stay nicely on the shoulders, with or without a little clasp or button.

The lace pattern is written out (not charted). This is an intermediate pattern, and a good “first lace shawl” pattern.

Sizes: Little Frill, about 29” deep by 40” wide; Bigger Little Frill, about 40” deep by 48” wide

Materials:
-400 (900) yards of laceweight yarn. Little size (aqua) shown in Manos Lace, 1 skein (439 yds per 50 g skein). Bigger size (multi color) shown in Noro Taiyo Lace, 1 skein (920 yds per 100 g skein)
-24” or 29” circular needle, US size 7, or the size you need to get the right gauge (though the piece is worked flat, the circular needle is needed to accommodate the large number of stitches)
-A couple of stitch markers
-Optional: lightweight clasp or a small button to fasten front

Gauge:
Before blocking: 5 sts = 1” in stockinette stitch; after blocking: 4 sts = 1” in stockinette stitch
