This elegantly shaped little layer really feels lovely on bare shoulders, and is an easy solution to air conditioning or an evening chill. Dropped-stitch technique makes a pretty wavelike pattern, as well as making this a lightweight and breathable item. The fit is quite flexible, as there is no real front, just a couple of points that can be fastened with a shawl pin or left to drape open.

The pretty shape is somewhat deceptive- no shaping is required to knit this mainly rectangular piece. Once you get the hang of the drop-stitch technique, the knitting goes quickly, and you will want to make more of these!

You only need to know how to cast on, knit, and bind off. The drop stitch is described in the pattern, and is a variation on the knit stitch.
